Polyacrylamide (PAM)

Product Description

Polyacrylamide is, usually mentioned as PAM, a water- soluble high polymer and widely used inpetroleum, paper-making, metallurgical, textile, chemical and environment protection fields. There are three categories of anionic, cationic and non-ionic type.

☆Anionic PAM

1.Used as flocculent to separate solid from liquid in the fields of mineral separation, metallurgy, chemicals and foodstuff;

2. And used for waste-water processing in iron and steel, textile and paper industries;

3. In oil industry, it is used for drilling and EOR;

4. In chemical industry, it is used as surface activating agent.

☆Cationic PAM

1. Used as flocculent and sludge dewatering agent in waste-water processing.

2. In paper-making industry, it is used as retention aid. In textile industry, it is used as fabric conditioning agent.

Package, Storage and Transportation

Packaged in 25kg PP wovn bage or paper-plastic bags PE lined, or as per client’s requirements.

In storage and transportation, pay attention to heatproof and moisture proof. The powdery product will be damped to be caked and will be poor in solubility if exposure to air for long time.

The stacking layers shouldn’t be more than 20 layers.

Using Method

When use PAM series products, first make up dilute solution, usually 0.01%-0.1%, thus it is easy to mix with treated substance to get the best result. When making up dilute solution, try best to use water that is neutral or doesn’t contain metallic salt. When making up solution, usually the temperature is between 50-60℃. When used as paper-making staying-assist agent, density couldn’t be too high, other-wise the paper size will appear flocculation, and usually it is between 100-300 PPM. When used as flocculation agent it is necessary to select type and size of PAM series products according to PH value of treated substance. 

(1) Anionic PAM is suitable for higher density, inorganic suspension substance with positive charge and PH value is neutral of basic solution with thick suspension particles 1mm-10mm. 

(2) Non-ionic PAM is suitable for separating mixed organic and inorganic suspension, the solution is neutral or acid. 

(3) Cationic PAM is suitable for suspension solution with negative charge and containing organic substance.
